El 7 de Septiembre el astrónomo aficionado Terry Lovejoy descubrió este nuevo cometa a través de su telescopio de 20 cm. de apertura. Cuatro días después obtuve esta imagen remotamente desde Siding Spring, en la que el cometa presenta una coma de 1′ de diámetro con un brillo de magnitud 12.
On September 7th, 2013 the amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy discovered this comet with your 8″ telescope. After four days I took this image remotely from Siding Spring in which the comet shows a coma diameter of 1′ and a brightness of 12 magnitude.
