Cometa C/2026 C1 (Tsuchinshan) fotografiado el 11 de junio de 2026 cuando brillaba alrededor de la magnitud 18. Aún situado a más de 9 unidades astronómicas del Sol, continúa mostrando un aspecto completamente estelar, sin actividad observable a esta resolución.
Esta nueva imagen forma parte del seguimiento de un objeto que, si mantiene la evolución prevista de brillo, podría convertirse en uno de los cometas más destacados de finales de 2028. Por el momento permanece poco activo, sin que se aprecie coma ni colas, reflejando el aspecto de un núcleo todavía demasiado alejado del Sol para desarrollar una actividad detectable.
El cometa se encontraba proyectado sobre la constelación de Virgo, inmerso en un rico campo estelar salpicado por varias galaxias de fondo apenas perceptibles, que recuerdan la enorme profundidad del universo tras este diminuto visitante del Sistema Solar. Cada nueva observación resulta especialmente interesante, ya que el cometa va perdiendo altura sobre el horizonte al anochecer desde mi latitud, reduciendo progresivamente la ventana disponible para continuar documentando su evolución.

This is another image in the ongoing monitoring of a comet that, if its current brightness trend continues, could become one of the most remarkable comets of late 2028. For now it remains only weakly active, with no visible coma or tails, preserving the appearance of a nucleus still too far from the Sun to develop detectable activity.
The comet was located in the constellation of Virgo, against a rich star field dotted with several faint background galaxies, subtly revealing the immense depth of space beyond this tiny visitor to the Solar System. Each new observation becomes increasingly valuable, as the comet is gradually sinking lower into the evening sky from my latitude, steadily reducing the available time to continue documenting its evolution.
