Cometa 260P/McNaught (29-Nov-2019)

260P/McNaught

Comet 260P/McNaught imaged on 2019 November 29 through IAC-80 Telescope in Teide Observatory (IAC). Shows a coma some smaller than 1 arcminute of angular size (30 000 km in absolute size) and a dust tail in fan shape. The attached image, at maximum resolution and stacked on the comet, shows in detail the inner coma where are perceived jets of material emerging from nucleus. I have included an Earth image at same scale of the comet.

C/2018 N2 ASASSN y 260P McNaught

On September 7, 2019 the comets C/2018 N2 (ASASSN) and 260P/McNaught crossed in the sky on this field sull of small galaxies in Aries constellation. Its minimal angular separation was only 10 arcminutes, although only due our perspective from Earth, as both comets were far away from each other; at bottom comet 260P/McNaught to 0.6 A.U. from us and at upper comet C/2018 N2 (ASASSN) to 2.6 A.U., two times the distance from Earth to Sun separates them.
